Seeking Beautiful, Innovative, and Sustainable Food Solutions for Human Civilization

I was an architectural designer when I finally realized that things needed to change.

Not being able to eat well made me feel utterly drained, physically and mentally. I vowed for a major overhaul, left my job, and started a quest in search of dietary improvements.

In the months that followed, I delved deep into the culinary world eager to learn as much about food as possible. I went through hundreds of books, videos, and articles; chatted with dietitians and meal planners; even scanned through the item labels from every aisle in several supermarkets attempting to unveil the secrets that brought those ingredients from the farm to our tabletop.

As my knowledge of food expanded, improvements in my diet and wellbeing followed. I started to believe that I might be able to use these newly acquired experiences to positively impact the lives of countless others. Immediately, I rolled my designer-class mind into motion and started countless numbers of food experiments. One year into my research, AZHI’S WEECIPE was created.

Bridging the Gap between Ingredients and Our Tabletops

In our modern society, recipes can easily be found online, and fresh produce is available everywhere. Despite the convenience, plenty of reasons stopped me from cooking at home. It frustrates me having to decide on what to eat, meal-by-meal. Shopping, washing, preparing, cooking, and cleaning all require a tremendous amount of time and energy. Not to mention the stress of constantly having to manage degrading food in the refrigerator and expiring condiments in the drawer. Considering these difficulties, no wonder quick, ready-made meals from dining-out become the go-to solutions for most busy professionals.

Yet, these outside foods are often overly salted, sweetened, or filled with added preservatives. Consuming them over a lengthy period causes all sorts of health problems. Cancer, diabetes, chronic diseases, and mental illness are just a few examples. Unhealthy diets shorten our life expectancy and add a tremendous amount of stress to our health care system. I dreamt of a way for us to get quality meals effortlessly and sustainably. Without adding an overwhelming amount of stress to our busy modern lives, is it even possible?

Recipes for Our Busy Week

AZHI’S WEECIPE aims to make meal preparation effortless at home. Having a meal plan gives us peace of mind for many days ahead. Buying the calculated amount of ingredients reduces food waste and boosts our health. Using the optimized methodology cuts the required preparation time. Furthermore, we will emit less carbon collectively with the reduced frequencies of grocery shopping trips and restaurant visits.

Yes, we will have to find ingredients ourselves. Yes, we still have to cook. And yes, it could be hard and daunting to learn new skills. However, I genuinely believe the ultimate rewards of living healthier, more diverse, and sustainable lives very much outweigh the effort. Together, we will be constantly learning new ways of cooking, experimenting with different cuisines, and increasing our quality of life.
